How parade closures affect Manhattan pickups and drop-offs
From Wednesday night balloon inflation on the Upper West Side through Thursday midday dispersal around Herald Square, the NYPD closes Central Park West, Columbus Circle, segments of 6th Avenue and West 34th Street to vehicular traffic. Cross-town travel between the East Side and West Side north of 34th Street is also restricted while the parade is underway.
If your hotel sits directly on Central Park West, 6th Avenue or the Herald Square perimeter, vehicles cannot pull to the front door during active closure hours. Plan to walk a few blocks east or west to an open avenue agreed with dispatch in advance, and allow extra walking time if traveling with children, strollers or elderly relatives.

No. Our rates do not use demand-based surge multipliers on holidays. Once your quote is confirmed, the price for the agreed route and vehicle class is locked.
Can a chauffeur pick us up directly in front of Macy's Herald Square after the parade?
No. West 34th Street and surrounding Herald Square blocks remain closed to normal vehicle traffic during and immediately after the telecast. We coordinate a legal pickup point on an open street outside the NYPD perimeter.
What if we want to visit the Wednesday balloon inflation on the Upper West Side?
Blocks around the American Museum of Natural History (West 77th to West 81st Streets between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue) have dedicated pedestrian queues and street restrictions on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Request a drop-off and return pickup on an open avenue west of the queue area.
How far in advance should we book Thanksgiving weekend airport transfers?
