How pre-arranged child-seat bookings work
Traveling through JFK, LaGuardia, Newark or Manhattan with young children is much simpler when you do not have to carry heavy car seats through airport terminals—or wonder whether an on-demand rideshare driver will arrive with the seat you need. When you book in advance with Chauffeur Service NYC, you can request a rear-facing infant seat, a convertible seat, or a belt-positioning booster for $25 per seat with 48 hours' notice.
You are also welcome to bring and install your own child seat at no extra charge. In either case, let us know the number of seats and each child's age, weight and height when requesting your quote so we assign a vehicle with the right seating layout and trunk volume.
Choosing the right seat type and vehicle class
Rear-facing infant seat
Requested for infants and younger babies within the seat manufacturer's rear-facing height and weight limits. Give the child's age and weight in your booking notes.
Convertible seat (rear- or forward-facing)
Requested for babies and toddlers who need a five-point harness seat configured either rear-facing or forward-facing.
Booster seat
Requested for older children who have outgrown a harness seat and need belt-positioning elevation for proper lap-and-shoulder belt fit.
Vehicle sizing with strollers & bags
Child seats take full passenger positions and cannot be stacked. A sedan (up to 3 pax / 3 bags) fits at most one child seat comfortably; families with 2+ child seats, strollers, pack-and-plays or 4+ suitcases should book an Executive or Luxury SUV (up to 6 pax / 6 bags) or Sprinter Van.
Installation and inspection before departure
When you request a company-provided child seat with at least 48 hours' notice, your vehicle arrives with the requested seat type assigned. Before the trip departs the curb, the parent or adult caregiver should always inspect the seat position, belt path or LATCH attachment, and harness snugness—and make the final adjustment for their child.
- Share exact details at booking:include the number of seats, seat type (rear-facing infant, convertible, or booster), each child's age/weight, and your stroller + luggage count.
- Allow a few calm minutes at pickup: airport arrivals include 60 minutes of complimentary domestic wait time (90 minutes international), giving families time to collect bags and buckle children in without rushing.

How much does it cost to add a car seat to my reservation?
Pre-arranged infant, convertible or booster seats are $25 per seat. There is no fee if you bring and install your own child seat.
Can I book two car seats in an Executive Sedan?
We recommend an Executive SUV or Luxury SUV whenever you need two child seats or are traveling with a stroller and multiple checked bags. A sedan is rated for up to 3 passengers and 3 standard suitcases total.
How far in advance should I request a child seat?
We ask for 48 hours' notice when requesting child seats so the right seat is fitted to the right vehicle before dispatch. For closer-in trips, call 347-321-9929 to check immediate availability.
Who secures the child into the car seat?
We supply the requested seat type in the vehicle, and the parent or adult guardian is responsible for verifying the fit and buckling the child into the harness or belt before departure.
