Upper West Side
Car Service

Chauffeured sedans, SUVs, and Sprinter vans for Lincoln Center performances, museum and family days on Central Park West, residential pickups, airport runs, weddings, and groups.

Yes — Chauffeur Service NYC books point-to-point transfers, hourly as-directed days, multi-stop itineraries, group and Sprinter vehicles, and airport transfers for Upper West Side pickups and drop-offs — performances, museums, residences, hotels, events, and airports, with the neighborhood named in published Manhattan coverage.

Published:six vehicle classes from sedan to 14-passenger Sprinter; hourly bookings from a 3-hour minimum; airport transfers priced flat with tolls, parking, and fuel in the quote, gratuity optional, and no surge; 24/7 service including holidays; and free changes and refunds at 24 hours' notice. One thing makes this neighborhood different: its two biggest destinations publish exactly where a car can stop. Lincoln Center names the Jaffe Drive pick-up and drop-off area, and the American Museum of Natural History names the two addresses to give a driver. Put those facts into your booking and most of the friction disappears; guess, and you get a car circling Columbus Avenue while a family stands on a corner.

Licensed, insured for-hire ground transportation. See our About and Credentials & Trust pages for how the service operates.

Why pre-book

Why people book instead of improvising here

Published drop-off points

Lincoln Center and AMNH publish exactly where a vehicle stops — Jaffe Drive and two named entrance addresses. A booking that quotes them beats a booking that guesses.

Central Park is not a route

Private and for-hire vehicles are not allowed inside without authorization — only the 97th, 86th, 79th, and 65th Street transverses stay open. That shapes every east-west trip.

Price fixed before the ride

Flat-rate airport transfers, quotes inclusive of tolls, parking, and fuel, gratuity optional, no surge — and the congestion toll rides inside the quote when a trip enters the zone south of 60th.

The return, decided early

Whole audiences finish at once. Book the return with the outbound, agree a primary pickup point and one named alternate, and give a realistic finish time.

Built for how the neighborhood moves

Residents book early departures and standing schedules. Families book around strollers, car seats, and museum days. Concert and opera audiences book returns. Groups book to arrive together.

A named, level door

Older adults and anyone with a mobility need can book against a published accessible entrance — and ask at booking what assistance is available.

Local guide

Lincoln Center nights, planned properly

Verified July 31, 2026.

Lincoln Center states that guests can be picked up and dropped off on public streets according to traffic signage, and publishes a designated area: the Jaffe Drive pick-up and drop-off area on Columbus Avenue at West 65th Street, entered from Broadway southbound, with a nine-foot vehicle clearance and concourse-level access to the Metropolitan Opera House, Lincoln Center Theater, and the parking garage (Lincoln Center). That clearance is a real constraint — a raised or roof-racked vehicle may not fit, and a large van should be confirmed first.

The Metropolitan Opera states the campus sits between West 62nd and 65th Streets and Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues, with the park-and-lock garage underneath open to the public 24 hours a day through four entrances on three streets (Metropolitan Opera) — which is exactly why "meet me at Lincoln Center" is not an instruction. Name the entrance, or name Jaffe Drive. For a performance evening, decide three things at booking rather than at the curtain: the drop-off point, the pickup point, and whether the car stays. Hourly makes the evening one booking — the chauffeur stays with you throughout, wait time between stops included. A scheduled return is simpler if you know when the house empties, but give a wide window and one named alternate.

Museums, families, and Central Park West

All verified July 31, 2026.

Destination
Published detail that affects your ride
American Museum of Natural History
Give 56 West 81st Street for the 81st Street/Rose Center entrance or 415 Columbus Avenue for the Gilder Center entrance — no driveway at Gilder; open daily 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; garage open 6 a.m.–11 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m.–11 p.m. weekends (AMNH).
The New York Historical
170 Central Park West at Richard Gilder Way (77th Street); closed Monday; Tuesday–Thursday and Saturday–Sunday 11 a.m.–5 p.m.; Friday 11 a.m.–8 p.m. with pay-as-you-wish 5–8 p.m. (The New York Historical).
Children's Museum of Manhattan
Open daily 10 a.m.–5 p.m. through Labor Day, September 7 (CMOM).
Central Park
Runs 59th to 110th Street between Fifth Avenue and Central Park West; open 6 a.m.–1 a.m. (Conservancy); closed to private and for-hire vehicles (NYC Parks).
Riverside Park
Riverside Drive to the Hudson River, West 72nd to West 153rd Street, with a 110-slip public marina at 79th Street (NYC Parks).

Two rows change a family booking outright. AMNH's no-driveway note means the Columbus Avenue side is a street drop-off, not a sheltered one — worth knowing in rain with a stroller. And the Friday 5–8 p.m. pay-as-you-wish window at The New York Historical turns a museum afternoon into an evening pickup. Park-side outings work the same way on both flanks: the car stops on Central Park West or Riverside Drive and you walk in. Agree the cross street, because "by the park" covers fifty blocks.

Local guide

The northern edge: Morningside Heights

St. John the Divine

The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine is at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue at 112th Street, open Monday–Saturday 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m., with sightseeing admission of $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and students, complimentary for residents of zip codes 10025, 10026, and 10027 with proof of residency and for Columbia students with valid ID (St. John the Divine).

The Columbia-adjacent blocks

Amsterdam and Broadway are the working avenues and the blocks are narrow. Move-in weekends and graduation weeks concentrate bag volume in a way that argues for a Sprinter rather than three sedans. Give the exact address and confirm the quote at booking.

Summer 2026 · verified

The closure at the northern boundary

Confirmed as of July 31, 2026 — reconfirm before you travel.

NYC DOT's Summer Streets runs in Manhattan on August 1, 8, and 15, 2026, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., from the Brooklyn Bridge to Broadway and Dyckman Street — along Lafayette Street and Park Avenue between the Brooklyn Bridge and East 110th Street, and along East 110th Street between Park Avenue and Broadway (NYC DOT). That means two things here: the Broadway leg north of 110th Street and the 110th Street crosstown leg are inside the closure on those three Saturdays, so a Morningside Heights or Manhattan Valley pickup before 3 p.m. needs an agreed alternate street — and crosstown trips in that window have fewer options than usual. Decide the pickup point with the dispatcher in advance.

Illustrative itineraries

Build your Upper West Side evening or day

Illustrative examples only — not operational promises or quoted plans. Paste this into the quote form: date and start time · pickup address, cross street, and door · stops in order · passengers and bags counted separately · anyone needing a level, sheltered door · return leg · onward travel.

A two-hour block

Residence, museum drop-off at a named entrance, home — sized above the 3-hour hourly minimum if the car waits.

A performance evening

Residence, dinner near the campus, Jaffe Drive drop-off, late pickup at an agreed point — hourly, so the car is not found twice.

A full family day

An early AMNH arrival at 56 West 81st Street, lunch, a Riverside Park stop, home — SUV or Sprinter, sized for the stroller rather than the seat count.

Domestic pickups are curbside; terminal meet-and-greet is offered on request for international arrivals, with the wait clock starting at recorded arrival — 60 minutes domestic, 90 international. Sprinters are custom-quoted per trip; Teterboro is quoted by distance, and Westchester County (HPN)has its own page. No drive times appear here, deliberately — journey time from a West Side address moves with the hour, the crossing, and whatever is letting out nearby, and competing pages' confident minute ranges contradict each other. The departure buffer is the part you can set; settle it when you book. Route 9A, the West Side Highway, is excluded from the Congestion Relief Zone, while local streets below 60th Street are inside it (MTA) — either way, the toll rides inside the all-inclusive quote.

Accessibility & family

Accessibility and multigenerational planning

Say what's needed at booking

Be specific in writing: step height, folding versus non-folding wheelchair, whether a walker rides in the cabin, and whether a companion travels — confirmed before the vehicle is assigned.

Child seats, $25 per seat

Rear-facing, forward-facing, and booster seats on request, with the child's age and weight given 48 hours ahead.

Pets ride along

Dogs and cats travel in all vehicles at no additional fee — mention it at booking so the vehicle is prepared.

Lincoln Center access, published

Jaffe Drive has a stated nine-foot clearance and concourse-level access, and the campus publishes Access-A-Ride stops at 20 Lincoln Center Plaza and 111 Amsterdam Avenue (Lincoln Center).

Museum entrances, published

AMNH publishes accessible entrances at 81st Street/Rose Center and Columbus Avenue at 79th Street (AMNH), and The New York Historical states its building is fully ADA compliant (The New York Historical).

Wheelchair-accessible vehicles

Availability is confirmed for your specific date and pickup at quote — ask when you book so the right vehicle is reserved.

The fit logic: SUVs for checked bags, strollers, and mobility equipment; sedans for one or two passengers traveling light; hourly bookings sized for the whole day rather than the first leg; a Sprinter when the group has to arrive at one entrance together. Height matters more here than in most neighborhoods — Jaffe Drive publishes a nine-foot clearance (Lincoln Center), so if a Sprinter is in your plan, confirm the drop-off point will take it. If the exact model is unavailable, dispatch explains the substitution before pickup, not at the curb. See the full fleet page.

Weddings & groups

Weddings, benefits, and groups

Wedding transportationis a full-day plan built with your planner — party pickups, staggered ceremony arrivals, photo transfers, guest shuttle loops, and a departure vehicle under one booking, with 2 to 4 weeks' notice recommended and earlier for the May-to-October peak. For galas and benefits, event transportation covers manifests and staged vehicles at 2 to 4 weeks, or 4 to 6 weeks for five or more vehicles. Split head count from bag count, and check the drop-off point takes a full-size van before putting a Sprinter in the plan.

Pricing

How pricing works

Two published models. Airport work is flat-rate — the verified Manhattan rates above — with the quote covering tolls, parking, and fuel, gratuity optional, and no surge at any hour. Everything as-directed is billed hourly from a 3-hour minimum, extending in half-hour steps. Point-to-point is a single fixed price by pickup, destination, vehicle class, and time of day; additional stops change the quote, so name them up front. When a trip enters the Congestion Relief Zone south of 60th Street (MTA), the congestion toll is treated as a toll inside the all-inclusive quote — never billed separately. Price your exact trip in the booking form.

Quote-readiness checklist: date and start time · pickup address, cross street, and door · stops in order, including the restaurant before the performance · passengers and bags counted separately · anyone needing a level, sheltered door · vehicle class · format · return leg · flight details · accessibility needs.

What happens if…

Settle these at booking, not on the night.

The performance runs long

Wait time is included within an hourly booking; on a scheduled return, ask how an overrun is priced before the night.

Your flight moves

The airport wait clock starts at recorded arrival, not the timetable.

The drop-off point will not take your vehicle

Jaffe Drive publishes a nine-foot clearance — confirm before booking a tall vehicle.

It rains and there is no shelter

AMNH states there is no driveway at the Gilder entrance — switch to the 81st Street/Rose Center address.

It is a Summer Streets Saturday

On August 1, 8, and 15, 2026, the Broadway leg north of 110th and the 110th Street crosstown leg close 7 a.m.–3 p.m.

You need to cancel

24+ hours ahead is a full refund or credit; 12–24 hours 50%; 2–12 hours 75%; under 2 hours or a no-show, full fare. Changes 24+ hours ahead are free.

An honest note

Who controls what

You control the address and door, honest passenger and bag counts, a realistic finish time, a reachable phone, and early notice of change. The venue, museum, or campus controls entrances, drop-off zones, clearances, garage hours, and curtain and closing times. The city controls the August closure route, the ban on vehicles inside Central Park, and where the toll boundary sits. We control the class, the quote, the wait allowance, and the cancellation tier — published on the site, and worth having written into your confirmation.
