Why the address matters more than the neighborhood
Name the entrance, not the building
Waterfront towers have loading docks, porte-cochères, and garage entrances that are not on the street the building is named for. Say which one you will be standing at, and agree a fallback entrance with dispatch in case building security moves the vehicle on.

PATH and the ferries — and when a car beats them

PATH
Jersey City is served at Exchange Place, Newport, Grove Street, and Journal Square, all published as elevator-accessible (Port Authority). The full one-way fare is $3.25, with $1.60 reduced fare for riders 65+ or with qualifying disabilities and free travel for children five and under — and SmartLink cards and MetroCard stop being accepted from September 1, 2026 (fares).
Ferries
NY Waterway runs Paulus Hook as a Hudson River terminal with sailings including Brookfield Place (NY Waterway). Separately, Liberty Landing Ferry connects Liberty Landing Marina, Warren Street, and Brookfield Place, publishing a $10 one-way adult fare, $6 seniors, $5 children 7–12, free under 6 (Liberty Landing Ferry).
Where the car earns its place
Neither PATH nor a ferry reaches an airport terminal, carries a family's checked luggage up a staircase, or waits outside a restaurant at midnight. A car is the right answer for airport runs, groups, deadlines, mobility needs, and late finishes; for a solo commuter with a laptop at 8 a.m., PATH usually wins on cost.

Tolls, and what your quote says
Every Jersey City trip into New York crosses a Port Authority facility. For a two-axle passenger vehicle, the published E-ZPass toll is $14.79 off-peak and $16.79 peak, with $23.30 for Tolls by Mail; peak hours run weekdays 6 to 10 a.m. and 4 to 8 p.m., and weekends 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tolls are collected only entering New York, and all crossings are cashless (Port Authority).

The park and the terminal
The state publishes the gate open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. with no entrance fee, and the CRRNJ Terminal Building at 1 Audrey Zapp Drive open daily 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from March through October; access questions go to the park office at 201-915-3400 (NJ DEP). Tell dispatch your stop is inside the park so the drop point is agreed in advance.
Liberty and Ellis Islands
Ferries depart from both The Battery in Manhattan and Liberty State Park, Statue City Cruises is the only operator authorized to sell tickets and carry passengers to the islands, and the Park Service notes driving and parking on the Jersey City side is easier than in Lower Manhattan (National Park Service). Book your sailing time first, then set the pickup around it.
Liberty Science Center
Inside the park at 222 Jersey City Boulevard, publishing daily hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through September 7 (Liberty Science Center). With small children the deciding factor is usually strollers and bags, which pushes the vehicle class up before the passenger count does.
Nights out, venues, and the return ride
Jersey City's dining and nightlife runs along Newark Avenue downtown, around Hamilton Park, and up Central Avenue in The Heights. White Eagle Hall at 337 Newark Avenue publishes its own show calendar and door times, with age restrictions on some events (White Eagle Hall); the Landmark Loew's Jersey at 54 Journal Square Plaza publishes its own programme (Loew's Jersey).
Two practical points. A venue's stated door time is not your pickup time — set the return for after the encore. And if the group is going on somewhere afterwards, that is an hourly booking rather than two separate transfers. Downtown streets around Newark Avenue and Grove Street carry heavy evening foot traffic, so the practical pickup point is often a corner off the main run rather than the venue door — decide it with the dispatcher when you book, give the driver a phone number that will be answered, and tell the group where to gather before the show ends.

Waterfront hotels, the Liberty State Park terminal building, and Journal Square venues all host events, and each sets its own vehicle rules — ask the venue where a Sprinter may stop, and how long it may stand there, before you decide how many vehicles you need. For multi-vehicle work, start two to four weeks ahead, and four to six weeks for five or more vehicles (event transportation). Certain dates may carry longer cancellation notice, disclosed at booking.
